HELLO

Bee Strickland here. I started Bookkeeper Bee in 2024 as a way to express my passion for helping business owners understand their finances so they can thrive and grow.

Problem solving, organizing, and listening to others have always been up there in my top skills list. I enjoy nothing more than helping someone figure out a solution to their problem. It makes me feel like a worthy, useful human. Bookkeeping allows me to do just that. I get to spend my time putting things in order, researching missing pieces, and making business owners feel relief and hope.

Having owned and operated two (and now three) businesses, I am able to put myself in business owners’ shoes when it comes to financial concerns.

The past

I focused on accounting in college but ultimately chose to obtain an associates in Business Admin because I was working already full time in the real estate industry. After an episode of burnout and self discovery I knew I needed to work for myself. I then ventured into entrepreneurial territory in the form of a me-only manufacturing business and then a pet sitting business.

Once I became a mom in 2023 I had to put my successful pet sitting business to bed. I was itching to get back to work though, and my passion for accounting resurfaced. As silly as it sounds to many – it excites me and makes my brain buzz!

The future

My futures plans are to become an Enrolled Agent with the IRS so that I can confidently prepare tax returns and represent tax payers to help them navigate the extremely confusing U.S. tax system. Bookkeeping and tax prep really go hand in hand so it seems like a no brainer that I would offer this to my clients. Stay tuned!

The personal stuff

A native Texan, I moved to Austin in 2010. Home is with my husband, baby girl, and pets. Crafting, sewing, cooking, and gardening also take up a big chunk of my brain space. When I’m not working on bookkeeping, I can usually be found planning or working on a crafting project or Googling a bug I found.

My books are open for your books, so let’s work together!
